Some of my Favorite Books and Authors

This list list does not include two of my favorites, Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter, as so much has been written about them, there is nothing I could add.

Mystery Series

  1. Inspector Alleyn series by Ngaio Marsh

    2. This series is about Scotland Yard detectitve Inspector Roderick Alleyn and his romance with painter, Agatha Troy. Interesting
    plots and characters.

  2. Peter Wimsey series by Dorothy Sayers

    3. About a British lord, whose hobby is detecting. Some find this series too pompous, as there are lots of literary and esoteric references, but I enjoy
    the wry British humor and the title character.

  3. Eve Dallas series by J.D. Robb

    4. A series about a female police lieutenant in the year 2059. If you like sex with your mysteries, this series is for you.
    I like it for the humor and the characters.

  4. Anna Pigeon series by Nevada Barr

    5. About a female park ranger, who stumbles on to murders at various national parks where she is assigned. A likeable, but very human heroine.

Fantasy Series

  1. Thursday Next series by Jasper FForde

    2. This series is hard to catagorizse. A little bit of fantasy, mystery, satire, and science fiction all rolled into one. Very funny.

  2. Nursery Crimes series by Jasper FForde

    3. A detective series about nursery rhyme characters trying to blend in with normal humans. Another very funny series.
